SuperMedia is a great company and like many companies in this economy have to make business decisions to ensure that our company remains competitive and viable. For those who complain, we are what we make our company. If you don't feel SuperMedia is a great place to work, what is your contribution? You get out of it what you put into it. When was the last time you gave your paycheck back? Why do you continue to work for a place you hate? If you are not part of the solution, you are the problem. The grass is not always greener on the other side. I encourage you to become the type of person that will truly make our company great. Sure there are things that I wish were different, but at the end of the day, I realize that each day is an opportunity for me to make a difference and I for one am not drinking the kool-aid. I am grateful for the opportunities that I have within SuperMedia and will continue to do my part in lifting up our company instead of tearing it down. Instead of bashing the people and the company, change your own perspective. After all, you and you alone are accountable and in control of your happiness or misery and success or failure. It's easy to criticize and judge everything external you. It's time to look inside. You have absolute power over your perceptions, attitudes and responses to situations. If you are truly miserable working for the company then you owe it to yourself to leave. Life is to short and priceless to spend it doing something or being somewhere you hate. I'm both blessed and glad that when I wake up in the morning I am thankful for my job and glad that I have a place to go to provide for my family and my future.

I have never worked for a company that cared so much about their employees. Shelly and John are the bestest ever. I love working for them. They really know how to run a ship. If fact we are having a party to celebrate all the success they are having. It includes going on a boat for the best of us. Please stop bashing SuperMedia you guys. You bashers are stupid idiots who can not sell as good as I can.

I have read many of these comments and I have a few things to say. First of all, I really love my job. There isn't a company anywhere without a college education that you can make $5,000 every two weeks or more renewing advertising and selling something you believe in. I know it's been quite stressful lately with everything that is thrown at us, but I don't make things up in Superview, I put my appointments in there. We're not told to make them up and we have plenty of work for actual appointments. The opportunities are endless. What I have noticed is that people are lazy, and they don't want to work. They just want to make six figures and sit back and relax. Well, guess what? It doesn't work like that! If you want to make 6 figures, you have to work hard. Stress? How would you like the stress of being on an unemployment line like I have had to do in the past? That is way more stress then Superview or Supertool or my RVP or Sales Manager could EVER give me. I'm very grateful for my job, I love what I do, my peers are wonderful, my RVP and manager are both easy to work with and I make a lot of money! When I read these posts about people having to do Superview and being micro-managed is not what happens in my office. Every manager is under pressure to perform. We are a sales organization!!! We sell! That's what we do! Of course there is pressure for you to perform. If you don't like to sell or don't believe in it, then find a new job!!! Our RVP can go crazy with her emails sometimes and push us to the max, but I'd MUCH rather have that then one who sits back and doesn't give a shit! At least she cares enough to want us to succeed and always has an open door to her office for us to vent ( and I have many times! ). She answers emails almost immediately and both her and my manager make me feel great for my $50 sales as much as my $1,000 one. Yes, sometimes our products are rolled out unprepared but they are getting better and better and we are working out the the kinks. I have spoken to reps in other parts of the country who bitch and complain about how this company is run. Again, go find another job then and leave the opportunities to us. I will take care of my client, I will work my hardest, even under the stress and I will be sitting and waving to all of you from my home and car that is fully paid for, in addition to my education and my bills. I guess I'll see you all through the window of the unemployment office......hope your stress level isn't too high while you're standing in line....

From Expansion — 05/21/2010

I have worked with the company since it was Verizon, just over 5 years back. Through this time I've had great advancement opportunities to move up into new positions and earn more money and my 401k looks great! Unfortunately, in the last year and a half, this has changed. I believed that our company would revamp itself and really be a great company. But from what I have seen with resources being squeezed and people being RIF'd, upper management is living a fairy tale. I think there are a lot of people with good intentions. My manager is great, but he's drinking the kool aid, too! However, has any sold a website or .com items? What a mess. Each one has had fulfillment issues. I spend half my time with unhappy sp.com clients. I'm always picking up the balls that others drop. I'm not sure its necessarily their fault, since everyone on salary is required to do double the work with the same pay...I feel for them, too. Please Economy, turn around, so I can get off this sinking ship! I lay down my sword, I have defended more PI than I can imagine in the name of Verizon/Idearc/Supermedia. I'm spent.

Great place to work. One of the reason I like working here is that I'm still working in one of the worst economic atmospheres I have ever experienced. I'm doing just fine and so is my family. If you don’t like your job find a new one. Move on you losers.

I work on the internet side of things in the "larger picture" sort of stuff and the work environment here is awesome. Once we got buy in from the executive team, they've fostered creativity and innovation quite well. I'm actually pretty happy here, and so is everyone I've worked with pretty much. I really can't complain as much as the sales personnel do, but I don't share their environment. Love working here. My own little 'google', but in Dallas.

Wow - what can you say about a company as bad as this. Liars, dishonest, just bad. The pay used to be ok. You could make a living but now you sell to those who you can trick and it stinksbecause most of the time you know the product will not work. You give guarantees and promises but the products don't don't work
Yellow Pages - put a fork in it - the time has passed, internet - lousy - other companies do it better than yellow page companies and get better results.
Direct mail - expensive and no results. Lot of bull - doesn't work
Your trained to overcome objectives - yea - get people scared about losing their business to spend money with you and not get results.
They will roll out products - you will pitch the product as the best thing ever and they will bring out another version that you will have to go back to the customer and tell them it costs more but "its the best thing ever". Customers don't trust you - they have heard not only your crap but the crap from every yellow pages rep who has ever lied to them, and its not working. Their is no status to the job - your a leach sucking up the last drop of change on the floor.
Work or get fired - plenty of people waiting - let them have it. I have seen some great people go - good at their jobs and a credit to the company. Replaced by thiefs and liars.
