I have been with Rosetta Stone for almost 3 years. It is truly the best company I have ever worked for. I have worked for 4 other companies before coming here, all different sizes and cultures, but Rosetta Stone is the company that has inspired the most passion from me. This company is full of talented, dedicated, passionate people who are committed to the mission and the values of the company. The culture is very unique and honestly what makes the company so special. It's a fun, laid back environment but yet we all work very hard. We try to hire the best people and in turn, set high expectations for them. If employees are disgruntled about working here, it's usually b/c they are not high performing and don't do well in an environment where the standards are set high. For true A players, it is an ideal environment, b/c you are rewarded for your contribution and hard work and are energized by the challenge. I know for me, I would rather have to work really hard b/c I'm working along side talented, hard working, intelligent people, than to work with a bunch of slackers and be able to coast through.
Since i have been here, I have seen people promoted and rewarded and praised for their accomplishments. It's an environment where the growth opportunity is endless if you prove yourself. The management team is extremely involved in the business and very hands on. They don't sit in their offices all day, away from the employees. They walk around, are involved, honestly care about us. I see the CEO walking around all the time talking to everyone from hourly employees to executives.
The company plans a lot of events to show appreciation to us or just to have fun. we have a holiday party, a summer picnic, product launch parties, quarterly presentations, thanksgiving meals, bagel Fridays, potlucks and random free ice cream days. We also have lots of fun internal events like chili cook off contests, halloween costume contests, community service events and somethings as silly as a mustache growing contest. It's a good mix of working hard and goofing off :-)
I am proud to be a Rosetta Stone employee and would recommend it as an employer to anyone. If you read the negative reviews, most likely they are from employees that didn't perform well or meet expectations and are using this site as an outlet to vent.

Hi ,
I have been working for RS for the past 6 months, and I have to say the commissions are good BUT is not worth it.
Some weeks I had to work 60 hours a week, without any day off.
Nobody seemed to know anything.
I do not get any bonuses, And during the interview RS told me I will. I do not understand why I have to do extra 20 free hrs a week while other people enjoy their 40 hrs week! I add as well, that for me it is the way the company is trying to save money on the employement costs.

In some departments there is a culture of being overworked and underpaid which does not gel with a philosophy of Top Grading. If you want the best and brightest you have to at least pay them close to market value. Great brand, tons of smart people and cool projects for the most part. Culturally, there is constant pressure to always do more faster, which is good for career and personal growth, but it is bitter sweet when you are underpaid. Good management team - they will get it right eventually.

I swear to goodness this is the best crappy mall job you will ever work at. Think about it. You could be selling sunglasses or watches or baseball caps. This rox.
