I've been with Sam's two years. In my experience so far, for the job being done in this economy - the pay is pretty good. The job is stable if you're a hard worker. If you're mediocre, not only will you not be noticed but you don't have reason to complain. Job security and advancement are up to the associate - how much work you want to put into your job.

Management is hit or miss. There are managers that are great, and some that shouldn't even be allowed to clean toilets. Depending on your rank, you won't be forced to work a lot with the GM, it's mostly the assistant managers. If the manager of your area doesn't like you, MOVE - I have noticed they will pick on those they generally don't like.
