From East Coast BABY — 03/06/2010

At the end of the day, its a sales job. If you produce, your job is secure. If you get off to a rocky start or you all of a sudden have a few straight months of nothingnessm going on, you may find yourself unemployed. In a nutshell, if you are contacting the right business owners, being able to relate to them and explain what RL does even remotely good, you will continue to grow your book. The first 6 months to a year are a grind. Its def not a 9 to 5 job nor is it a 100 hour work week like some have said. I will make around $85-90k this year and $130-140k next. There is a ramp up period but once you find your comfort level, you will shine. I am not in an office that is micromanaged AT ALL. Sometimes its good to be watched and other times its good not to. Like I said, its a sales job. Put up numbers and the bullshit goes away. Struggle and show no effort to change bad habits and you will be back working for Yellow Pages or AT&T or one of those other places where the work environment is VERY HORRIBLE.
