Pay- Alliant pays fairly. But I have yet to find someone at virtually any job (outside movie star and maybe even then) that thinks they do not need a raise or are worth more. But Alliant does pay fairly.
Respect- Alliant as a whole works hard to create a culture where everyone can be heard. Of course, it is not possible that in every meeting all your suggestions are implemented or agreed with, but that's the case in every work environment I think.
Benefits- all full time employees have access to full health care, vision and dental insurance. There are a few options for employees to choose from. We still have copays and the system isnt perfect, but it compares favorably to other small private Universities.
Job Security- Regardless of employer, doing your job well and respecting those around you (360) is the best way to secure your job.
Work/Life Balance- its a little tougher on this one, there is much work to be done and many of us do work substantial overtime. But overtime is not generally and is in fact rarely required by supervisors. It is, many times, our own choice.
Career Potential/Growth- I have been promoted twice in five years and feel some satisfaction and recognition in these opportunities.
