One of the best companies I've ever worked for. Starting salary is a little low but the company definitely rewards loyalty and longevity.

From speaking with colleagues at similar companies, the pay is relatively the same if not a little less than competitors. Co-workers respect one another and are mutually supportive. The benefits are excellent with the exception of the holiday schedule. Quintiles does not close during the holidays. Job security is high since the company has more business than it can handle- which plays into the next topic of Work/Life Balance. Although this is a strong focus of management, the volume of work assigned does not reflect work/life balance as a priority. Being successful means long days and this is rewarded if you are lucky. Career potential is limited and the company generally hires at higher levels and promotes from within less frequently. Quintiles is the best place to go to gain a large volume of experience in a very short time. This alone is worth any negatives I have listed here. San Diego is a good location as is the office itself. Co-workers are highly competent, intelligent and hard working. The work environment could be better as colleagues are always stressed.

Overall a great place to work. There are some downsides because sometimes you get the sense that some people should never have been hired due to having values that differ greatly with the company's. With that said, the pay and benefits are good. There's an encouragement and focus put on work-life balance but it needs work. Overall I would recommend the company.
