From Mesa, AZ — 09/10/2009

I feel obligated to comment on the previous review. I am an inbound agent in Mesa and I can honestly say the pay is fair. We are paid a base wage plus commission. The commission package was initiated based on employee performance. We didn't perform. Did you expect to paid anyway? Were you in the meeting where they explained the change in compensation? My commission is a direct result of my efforts. As with any company there is a strict set of guidelines that must be followed. I have been there for 2 years and have experienced numerous changes as the company grows and moves forward and I can tell you that since the inception of the recipe I am actually making more money in commission than ever before. I have never come across anyone in the management team be it a supervisor or above that wasn't ready and willing to listen to any of my concerns or needs. I may not always receive the answer I wanted but understand they are running a business.
Health Benefits are what they are. Keep in mind NCL does not owe you health insurance. It is a benefit. You have a number of different options to choose from. If they don't work for you then you certainly also have the opportunity to look elsewhere.
As I stated earlier, I have worked for NCL for 2 years. The recipe was introduced over a year ago. If you haven't grasped the concept maybe this isn't the place for you. I know exactly what is expected of me and strive to not only fulfill the goals of the company (after all they pay my salary) but my own goals as well. I am someone who shows up on time for job. I'm signed in and ready when I take my first call. If you're someone that tries to skate by or shows up at the last minute or late, it will never work for you. My performance is appreciated at the end of every month when I collect my pay. On a daily basis the management team is out on the floor and visible letting people know that they appreciate their efforts. Have you addressed your concerns with management, and at the same time come to the table with a solution instead of just a complaint? and in addressing your concerns keep in mind they are running a business.
There have been numerous postings for positions that would advance my career. I choose not to take them and that is a personal choice that everyone enjoys.
Cheating agents well I think you'll find some of that where ever you work but they don't last long and don't be fooled into thinking the management team isn't watching as well. If we are aware of it...so are they.
And finally smoking. I am a smoker and you know there isn't a supervisor that I've ever seen out there that isn't being asked questions or told stories about calls. I have no doubt they would rather enjoy a quiet break without all of us around. I guarantee if you asked any supervisor, if you could take 5 to go for a smoke or a walk, because you needed a break, they would be all in. And every once in a while keep in mind that their day may be long too.
So how would I sum up my job, my work environment, my management team? It's all that NCL puts into and all that I put into it. My success is a direct result of my attitude and effort.
