Dex is a great company with great pay and a great work enviorment. But I will be the first to say it is not easy and is never going to be a 8 hour a day job. If you want a easy show up at 8 and go home a 5 deal, pass on Dex. If you want a great opportunity to earn well over 6 figures, go to Dex and work you butt off and it will happen for you. The products are superior to the competitors and it truly delivers a value like nothing else I have seen. Most of the negitive posts are simply from people that can't succeed and shouldn't have been in a sales position, the jobs are tough and demanding, like all good paying sales jobs. I can tell you from many years in media sales, this is a GREAT job!

I have worked for Dex goin on 13 years. What a great Job, I have made hundreds of thousands of dollars working for the sales organization! Not to mention the product is awesome! My wife runs a small business, needless to say I have made buying decisions when it comes to marketing and not much out there delivers the value that Dex can bring to the table. Great company and great products. Benfits have declined over the years, but that is to be expected. The job requires alot and it is not a 9-5 job with 1 hour break. I work hard and play hard! I'm not afraid to do a 10 hour day. So if you are a hard worker and willing to put the time in this is an AWESOME sales job! If you are a slacker like the other people that wrote complaints, then pass on this job and find a good job selling furniture or something that is a little on the slower side!

I work for RH Donnelley/Dex in Overland Park, KS. I love my job. I love the flexibility of the hours and the fact that Managers don't micro manage. My pay is great. My job involves collection of past due yellow page accounts for Embarq and a few AT&T markets in the Chicago area. I have nothing but positives to report on my job but the benefits are lacking. Don't go on disability because they force you to use 1 week of vacation, before disability kicks in. I'm not sure the reasoning behind this other than maybe to steer away fraudulent claims. However with me being a Divorce single parent, I need all my benefit time, should my daughter get sick or some other last minute emergency comes up and not to mention using my vacation time. I had gone on disability for surgery earlier this year and that cost me 5 days vacation. That hurts and I think it's unfair. The work environment is very close and like family. What I like most is I can call in and say that I'll be late and it won't count against me so long as I make up that time towards the end of the day or just adjust my work schedule accordingly. Sometimes I'll work four 9.5 hour days, to get off early on Friday. This is nice or if I need to take off for a Doctor's appointment, I can adjust my schedule as oppose to using my benefit time.
