As far as current radio companies go, this is one of the better ones. There is a vision and purpose to Cumulus, and that make it better than most!

Overall, I like the company. I work hard and my efforts have have paid off and I have taken on a sales management role. The complaints that I hear are from the reps who don't feel like giving it 100% and don't want to work a full day (8-5:30) productively. Cumulus is looking very closely at activity and effort of all it's workers, but in this economy, any company needs to be sure that everyone is on the same page and trying their best. Most of the reps and workers that I have seen not happy were just used to coasting through with no accountability and now they are pissed because they have to work.

Cumulus isn't a bad company, it just needs more communication (like any radio station) from the Corporate Level --- down.

The world is changing and so is Corporate America. To be a salesman today is nothing like it was 20, 10 or even 5 years ago. It requires long hours and strong dedication. For those of you that complain you shouldn't work anymore than 40 hrs a week in sales to make a good income these days, quit Cumulus and move on! I dare you to work for any other large corporate company in America in a sales role and work only 40 hours a week. And you piss and moan about CSOS.... I've got news for you, CSOS is a watered down sales structure compared to what most corporations in America force employees to use. You should be so lucky that Cumulus spent the time to create a CSOS for Dummies system that you ignorant unwilling to accept change fools can all understand. Great sales people are always in demand, no matter how bad of shape the economy is in. It's obvious that most people posting on here are not and likely never were GREAT salespeople, simply people that had easy money making roles in radio and are now required to actually work for what you earn. I hope the rest of the trash falls of the truck soon. I'm looking forward to working with a smarter and better structured sales force with Cumulus!
