The friendly atmosphere in this company makes it a fantastic place to work. It's important to me to work in a company where I feel valued and feel a personal connection. I absolutely feel both here. It's the best job I've ever had.

I've worked in all areas of the photo industry for more than twenty five years, and have never had a more pleasant group of people to work with. This is my fifth year with the company, and I'm loving it!

One of the biggest strengths of Creve Coeur Camera is the positive work environment which is enhanced by the many great people employed by CCC. They make my job enjoyable. My biggest concern is about my potential to move up within the organization.

The company gives you all the tools you need to do your job. If you explain why you need something or why something should change, they listen. If you work hard and keep the company's goals in mind, they treat you right. Only drawback that I can find is that there is no time off from Nov-Jan. Being from out of town I never get to see my family during the holidays.

I enjoy working for this company and feel I am appreciated for the work I do. I do wish my location was closer to home.

I have worked for this company for over 8 years and really love it. I have been in several stores and have enjoyed most of them. I've been in sales and management and have love both. I'm a camera nut and seeing and using all of the new equipment has been great.

The vendors come in and train us fairly often and the relationship between us and them is great. They are always willing to lend us lenses and other items. Several times i have won new cameras. it just takes a little effort...but it really worth it.

The managment of the company is run by Steven and Pete...they are a great. They seem to be very flexible when you need something. I needed some time off for a personal reason and they had no problems with it. I have learned a lot from this company...the only thing I wish they had was a store out in O'fallon mo closer to my home.

From O'Fallon, IL — 12/30/2009

I worked for this company for twenty-eight months. I quit solely because I do not have the personality to work retail and with the public on a regular basis; I couldn't stand it anymore. My two immediate bosses (manager and assistant manager) were wonderful; I was treated with respect, as an employee and a person, and they were easy to get along with. I trusted them. As for the higher-ups, it was hit-or-miss with them. Their hearts are in the right place, but communication between them and the store managers is greatly flawed, which sometimes made it very difficult for my immediate bosses and the staff was never quite sure what was expected of them.

The pay, for me, was more than decent as a single person and feeding off of still living at home. It is hourly and commission. As with any sales job, most of your pay is determined by how much you WANT to earn. This was my first job with a benefits package and I was happy with it. I may be naive, though; however, the general consensus from co-workers was that it was a good package.

It's pretty hard to get fired from CCC. You have to do something either illegal, routinely piss off customers or just not show up. Within my location, my two bosses have worked for the company for over five years each and my three co-workers had all been there a minimum of three to four years, with the exception of the new hire.

There is no set work schedule, and you will never have Saturdays off. During the holidays, you will work six days a week and accrue a bunch of overtime...it is well worth it. If you have the right skills, you can advance to assistant or store manager.

The location for me was ideal, never took me more than ten minutes to get to work, but my bosses had a forty-minute plus commute. The higher-ups seem to have little regard for how far one may have to travel. That's the only reason I marked a bit low here.

Co-workers are hit and miss. I don't even know how to handle this part because it really just depends on which location you work at.

Overall, this is a great company to work for; it's small and nobody there is trying to destroy your morale or life. You WILL get frustrated, sometimes irate, but it will blow over. Generally, I had a good time at work; it's the customers that ruined it for me.
