Benefits

4

Job Security

5

Work/Life Balance

3

Career Growth

2

Location

3

Co-Workers

5

Work Environment

3

At UC Davis there are rarely raises, and in my job field, pay lags behind the local market by about 20%. Unfortunately for me, job security and benefits (both good here) are higher priorities for me at present.

My work must be approved by a large group of reviewers, mostly without adequate qualification, all of whom have authority to control the outcome. If it were merely input to be used in the betterment of the work, that would be great. If it were only a couple of reviewers, that would also help. As it stands, I may receive three or four mandates that contradict each other. Respect is something people grab for here, not something people give.

I work in a basement with grey walls and no windows.

On the plus side, I work with some smart, talented and invested people.
