It used to be a great place to work. For technical people this company paid very well comparing to what you would get outside, especially if you were in a bonus position. It is also a low pressure work environment and it used to be relatively stable. But recently there was a big layoff and future of the products is uncertain. There is not much career advancement and software tools and languages they use are outdated. Management used to be good, but now it sucks. There was a huge management turnover in the recent years and people they hired instead of those who left are treating employees like garbage and overblowing personal issues to compensate for their technical incompetence. Politics and favoritism are a big thing now.

Get ready to cold call until you're blue in the face. Management is decent, but adds to the stress of the job. Adequate commission structure with definite room for strong earnings growth over time. Work/life balance does not exist, though. It all depends on what you're looking for.

Pay is adequate, but may be out of line with surrounding locals. Good respect between employees and managers. Job security is good, duh it's the healthcare industry, just do your job and you're ok. Excellent growth potential as long as you are ready to move, and ready to take on responsibility. Decent training and work environment.

Overall - McKesson is a great company to work for - Management is very helpful and receptive to all aspects of your job, they care about YOUR career goals and if you call "lack of training" almost 9 weeks of product training on their clinical solutions - then you are crazy - this is the most training I have ever had from a company in my career so far. Benefit choices are vast - there are so many healthplans to pick from you don't know what to choose! Hope to stay here for a long time to come!
