The pay is great when you work on the road. Can't complain getting payed by the hour waiting for flight. Each facility is different and all run a on different work flow. Depending on who the customer is and the work flow from a certain customer. Some facilities are union and some are not. The difference between the two are black and white. The benefits are good and pay is according the local average of wages. Raises the other hand do not keep up with the cost of living.
I am treated well and I do the same in return. Safety is hight priority of AMC. People who do not follow safety of them selves and others are a short term employee. Some people cannot take the cold and was told that if your are cold. You are not working hard enough.

I have been with the company over 25 years. There are are over 200 employees, about 5% of the hourly work force that have over 20 years. it seems most of the people on this vent didn't get the fact that it is AmeriCOLD, frozen food, it is cold. Pay is just okay. Benefits just okay. Job security good if you do your job. Work balance is normal. Career Potential, most management came from the ranks. Location good. Co-Workers are good. Work environment, it is very, very cold. We work nights and weekends to service the customer. It is hard work. I think most of the complainers on this site are poor workers, want something for nothing, and want something for nothing. They don't seem to follow the news and see that the entire country is cutting back on jobs or closing plants. They whine about respect but show none to any co-worker. It seems to me most of these new rules are put in place because of abuses. If these people would just do the job live would be better for all of us. No one forces them to stay. The place has been good to me for 25 years.

I've worked at Americold for 16 years and it has some areas for improvement. But for me overall its a great company to work for.

pay - pretty good for what I do
respect - I get it, but there does seem to be negativity around the office
benefits - OK, but could be better - I didn't like the no vacation first year rule
job security - compared to other places, I feel fairly secure
work/life balance - OK - I don't feel overloaded, though I do work a bit more than 40 hrs. a week
career potential / growth - this could stand some improvement - never have I worked with a company with less of an internal hiring policy - employees apply online just like anyone else
location - right off 400 / near MARTA - very convenient
co-worker competence - varies - some are very competent. Others - ehh
work environment - adequate, nothing more. There is a lot of negativity around the office, but I just go to work, get paid, and go home and am done with it

Pay - The pay is very comparable with other companies in the industry

Respect - Everyone is treated fairly.

Benefits - Benefits are good but could be better, there is a 401k and tuition reimbursement. The $ to $ match could be better on the 401k and the tuition reimbursement only allows for maybe one class a year.

Job Security - If you do your job and give your best effort you won't have to worry about job security. Americold is a company that is growing so there are continually new positions being added.

Work/Life Balance - Lik every company, at Americold you are expected to work until your job is done. There is a team environment that allows for a good work/life balance.

Career Potential/Growth - Americold offers everyone the opportunity to apply for any position posted within the company. If internal candidates are qualified they are likely to be given the opportunity to advance.

Location - Easy access from many areas.
