Working at American Transit Insurance Company — Reviews by Employees

Several well-placed firings, some new hires, a promotion or two and this company is a lot more up to date and up to snuff than it used to be. Human Resources actually is there to help the employees not terrorize them. Productivity counts. Favoritism is way down. It's not Microsoft or even Zurich Insurance but it's tolerable. And it's still there.

I can honestly say that company does not reward competent employees and does not value any recommendations to better the company. While the company does offer free medical, dental and transportation, there are no raises. I never worked for a company that did not any sort of raise. The so called bonuses do not make up for the raises that the employees do not receive. There is no career path at this company. The location has easy access to the subway. The company does not expect you to stay late and they do not like to pay for overtime.
The pressure level is quite low, however Management does not give recognition when it's deserved. The moral is quite bad and Management does not look out for the better interest of their employees. Yes, they give alot of holidays and close the office on various days.

There appears to be plenty of job security at this time. However, one would wonder about the financial strength of the company.
