I have worked for American Security for over 10 years and started on the low rung. I have been provided opportunities to advance, but more importantly I have taken steps on my own to progress in my job. No, the pay isn't the best, but it's also not the worst and I have never had any unresolvable issues with payroll. The benefits are also not the best, but I also understand the the company has to make financially responsible decisions in order to be successful, and lets face it, as an employee I want my company to be successful so that I can have additional opportunities in the future. I have had good managers and not so good managers, as I'm sure happens in other companies. I am a mother with two small children and it is important that I have some flexibility to handle my parental responsibilities; sometimes the accommodation can be made, sometimes not. What I do know is that if I absolutely needed time off for my family and it was denied by my manager, I would take it to the next level of management, and continue through until I had exhausted all of my resolution options. If the time off was still denied, I would probably choose to work elsewhere, even with the economy being what it is.

All in all, not an A+ employer, but certainly not bad one.

I have worked for American for over 7 years and have never had any major problems that weren't addressed in a timely manner. In today's day and age of downsizing it is great to know you have a job where you probably won't get downsized. I had worked my way up to ladder from a part-time employee to an account manager in less than 5 years. It's not about kissing butt, but rather doing a good job and making sure you get recognized for it. I understand some accounts within the company aren't the best to work at but I wouldn't necessarily blame that on American Security. American Security is flexible to all types of industries and sometimes they aren't glamorous ones. American Security also has flexible scheduling options for those with kids, school, etc by having several different shifts available.

This is the best company I've worked for...our manager is outstanding...he tells us what he needs done and lets us do it - no micro-managing, and he listens to our concerns! We advance on our own merit. If you do the job, you advance. If you can't, well, then get out. Pay is excellent for the job requirements, benefits are great. The location leaves a little to be desired, but doable; if we could just get people with a work ethic...most people seem to think they can just slide by. If they're willing to work, they can go far. Too many lazy people around here, if you ask me. I love what I do.
