Working at American Public University System (APU & AMU) — Reviews by Employees

This company is great to work for! Although it is not well known, they have great benefits, the pay is decent, and they really make you feel like they value you as an employee. I rated job security lower than the rest because it isn't this big company with lots of potential, so I'm not sure about it yet, but there are some people who have been there for 10+ years. It is an online college, so at least there will always be a demand for education...no outsourcing or downsizing here! Work/life balance is good: 40 hours a week, and often they let you go home early and they are starting a telecommuting system. Location: the main office is in charlestown WV and the other office is in Manassas, VA. I live 10 minutes from Manassas so it's great for me! Coworker competence...not so sure about that. Most of them are fat which to me equals laziness. Overall though, awesome to work for!
